Microsoft Outlook (Express) - trouble with sending e-mail
It is not very hard to expect more or less logical trouble of the Microsoft’s mail client Outlook (also Express), that’s why it is good to know, how can this problems be avoidev or, if they occur, fixed. Below you will find some tips which may be useful, if you experience any problems with sending e-mail:
1. Change port of the outgoing mail from 24 to 587 – some internet providers block port 24 due to spam
2. copy unsent mails back to drafts, restart Outlook and then try sending it again
3. delete the account and create it again
4. try to turn off/turn on your firewall and scanning of the outgoing and incoming mail of your antivirus software
5. change the outgoing mail server (your internet provider smtp, smtp.gmail.com,…)
6. install the Outlook service pack
7. Instead of Outlook use free Mozilla Thunderbird mail client
These tips come in useful also when experiencing errors like shown below :
