Slow performance of the computer and similar problems…

It is just a question of time before our personal computer starts running out of power. Of course this is the user’s fault. A big success is, if our computer does not slow down its performance even after some years of usage, but mostly, it does so after a year, maybe eve some moths. There are many reasons for it; we can divide them on reparable (the problems we can solve without installing the operating system again) and irreparable, which means, that we are required to install the operating system again. Here are some of the bigger threats that could hurt our computer.
- VIRUSES
Always keep your computer protected with an updated antivirus software. Viruses can be an ideal reason for slow performance, loss of data etc. If you don’t have any of the antivirus software, you have to visit http://www.avast.com/ and protect your computer now. - SPYWARE (TROJANS, KEYLOGGERS, POP-UP-s,…)
In short, spyware is a gruop of programmes which display advertisements, they could steal our data, slow down the perfomance of our computer, infect our contacts and similar. They usually go spread over websites which contain suspisiouc data and cracked programmes, so it would not be bad if we were a bit more aware of what we click on. I suggest the principle - better prevent than heal. Two programmes which I further recommend are Lavasoft Ad-Aware http://www.lavasoft.com and Spybot - Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html. - REDUNDANT AND UNUSED PROGRAMMES IN WINDOWS AREA
A big number of user with a ‘’slow computer’’ have a sort of a phobia that they have to install every single software the come across. I think this can be ‘’cured’’ because most of these users find out, that this is one of the bad habits with which they slowly pulling tight the handbrake of our computer. I suggest a principle LESS IS MORE – use this principle and try to have installed only software you use quite often. Use recommended anti- software and do not istall every single thing, and if sometimes everything fails, you can still try with the old Add/Remove programs…
AWARENESS WHILE INSTALLING SOFTWARE
I must warn you about being aware while installing free softwareThere are more and more add-ons which are offered to use during the istallation of the free software and if we are not aware, we can, while istalling the software we want, also install software we do not want. Probably some junk for autochecking whatever. This is a very common phenomenon while installing drivers and software we got with newly bought hardware (camera, graphics card, cell phone…).
When installing software take a minute more to read what you are actually installing. Is worth it because you won’t poison your PC with all kinds of unwanted add-ons.
